Noir, is my new favorite cosmetics line for lush eye make-up that offers the blackest of black liners and eye shadows. I wanted to get in on what the creator of Noir, Caroline, had to say about beauty trends and of course her beauty secrets. Here is what she had to say. HM: Describe your style in one word.
C: Modern chic
HM: What is your best-kept beauty secret?
C: When applied precisely, a great cat eye created with liquid liner always looks sophisticated and sexy. To draw the line like a pro, I first trace a thin line along the top lid with pencil, and then re-apply with liquid eyeliner.
HM: Where is your favorite place to shop for cosmetics?
C: My sister’s makeup case. As a professional makeup artist, she has the best products from all over the world.
HM: Who is your style icon?
C: Then: Audrey Hepburn. Now: Natalie Portman.
HM: What is the biggest mistake a woman can make when putting on makeup?
C: Always remember that less is more. The first thing you want to notice is a woman’s inner glow, not layers of makeup.
HM: What is one lesson you are grateful for learning throughout your career in beauty?
C: Wear your makeup like a second skin. Forget about trends and fads. Value your own unique features and wear what suits you.
HM: What advice would you give to young fashion industry professionals trying to make their fame?
C: Follow your instincts. They will always lead you in the right direction. Draw on your individuality and a product your truly believe in. All great fashion icons have succeeded because they put a part of themselves in their brand.
HM: If you could give women a beauty tip to be fabulous what would it be?
C: You’ll always turn heads with a great smile and defined eyes. A smile should always be the first thing you put on when walking out the door, followed by classic black mascara.
