Florence and The Machine Fashion Design Competition

I'm a huge fan of Florence and The Machine so had to post about this great opportunity. All you designers out there make sure to enter. It's a competition to design Florence’s stage outfit for her performance at the high profile ‘Terminal 5’ in New York. Florence will choose the winner and they will receive $500 cash, transportation to New York, and 2 nights’ accommodation at the Soho House NY to see Florence + the Machine perform. The winner will also meet Florence and the band backstage and receive a signed copy of their new album, Lungs.

Open Call for Emerging Designers

When: November 20, 2008 4 pm to 9 pm

November 21, 2008 10 am to 1 pm

Where: The Thompson Hotel, SOHO, NYC

Who: The proprietors of fine cotton, Supima Cotton, who supplies fabric to Ralph Lauren and James Pearse. 

Designers must bring:

 A Sketch of your evening wear entry

Your Design Portfolio

Current CV/Resume

A garment you have designed and sewn

Around 30 designers will be chosen and given ten yards of Supima fabric to execute sketches and put together a collection to showcase in a fashion show at the prestigious Gotham Hall on January 14, 2009. 

Judges will include the Design Director at Brooks Brothers and prominent professors from the Parsons School of Design.
