Guest Blog | How To Wear Graphic Prints By Stylist Catherine Horgan

Graphic prints are bold, fun and sassy. However, at times, they can be difficult to wear if you don't know how to mix the right pieces together to keep the focus where it should be.

This graphic print silk dress is a standout! Don't overwhelm it with heavy pieces. These leather and perspex sandals are the perfect complement to keep things light and airy, thanks to Michael Kors. The jewelry, all by Kara Ross, is simply fantastic! Mixing a little chunky with a little lightness works the balance. Adding some color, perhaps just one as shown here, makes it playful. And the clutch brings just the right attitude!

So, where are you going in this fab outfit? How about a luncheon, afternoon tea, cocktail party, dinner with your significant other, or girls night out? The beauty of this ensemble, is once you master the accessories, it can go sooooo many places. Enjoy!

Guest Blog | How To Dress For An Interview by Le Petite Fashionista

Hi Readers! This week I am inviting some of my favorite bloggers to share their style expertise on Haute Mimi. Each day we will feature a new fashion editor to share their insider style secrets. First up we have Lauren Felix of Le Petite Fashionista, she shares great tips on how to look your best during an interview, enjoy!

My best friend texted me last week with desperate pleas of something trendy & appropriate to wear to an interview for a PR internship. "I'm officially requesting a 'what to wear' post for you blog," she said. So here I am with some outfit suggestions & a few tips for dressing for success at an interview!

The formality of your outfit depends where you're interviewing; interviewing for a fashion job allows a bit more creative freedom when it comes to shoes/accessories, but the basic foundation should still be conservative & classic.

What to Wear:

  • Pair fitted button downs with coordinating dress pants

  • Wear a pencil skirt with a tucked in shirt with a blazer for a trendier look

  • Keep heel heights to a minimum & jewelry classic and minimal think pearls, sterling silver, and rhinestone studs

  • Make-up & hair should be clean & natural looking

  • Invest money in your interview outfit, because all the pieces will work great into any work wardrobe.

  • Dress for the job you want! It's okay to be a little overdressed rather than sloppy looking.

Best of luck to everyone applying for jobs and internships right now. -Lauren Felix, Le Petite Fashionista
