Jeffrey Monteiro for Bill Blass?

Bill Blass has had it's share of ups and downs what with the fiasco of Peter Som bankruptcy et all but things seem to be looking up, finally. I was pretty psyched about a prospective Spring 2010 collection but that never came through and disappointment was evident. There was also talk that Richard Chai may be the new creative director but that didn't happen, either. Well, seemingly, Jeffrey Monteiro (erstwhile design director for Derek Lam and designer from 08) may be the saving grace. Owner of the label, Peacock International Holdings has currently declined to comment on the matter but the news will be out in a few weeks, they said. Fingers crossed.

The Wonder Boy: Olivier Theyskens

The word of the street was that Olivier Theyskens would be leaving Nina Ricci when his contract terminated, up until now that all but rumours. However, the French fashion house has today announced that the legendary Theyskens has left them, about six months and a collection earlier than expected. In a open statement the designer has given his role to Peter Copping of Louis Vuitton. Certainly us fans are devastated (especially after those amazing pony-hair platform ankle boots he used), The fashion house was revived of its former glory when Theyskens took the helms however will Copping be able to live up to expectations? In the meantime rumours are that Theyskens is focusing on starting his own line, after letting it subside when joining Nina Ricci.
