Our new obsession is the synonymous hand bag line by Argentinian designer,Valeria Smith's. The Valeria Smith collection features extremely chic, stylish and sophisticated handbags that are a cut above the rest.

It seems only fate that the perfect summer accessory brand is hitting New York in the form of handbag and shoe designer Valeria Smith’s new flagship store. Having started her own company in 2007 after working for the highly successful handbag brand Jackie Smith, Valeria has mixed an eclectic mix of colour, handcrafted Italian woven straw, leather and snakeskin to earn her place on the grandstand of must-have accessory designers designs.

Valeria, originally from Buenos Aires in Argentina, has chosen to open her first American store in Mercer Street after her and her husband (and CEO of the company) fell in love with Soho years before. And she will be a welcome addition, with her knack for creating stunning bags with a palette better than the ice cream stands. Specialising in totes, clutches and beach bags, she mixes the nautical coral and navy blue with jade to produce beautifully dimensioned handbags, and it’s not surprising, counting her history as a graphic designer.

The cool seaside hues conjure up images of her native country’s villas, but Valeria’s particular favourite is her snakeskin embossed leather bags. Mixed with aquatic tones, it’s right on-trend, making it the must-have bag for the holiday season.
