Tis the Season to be Noticed!

Contributed by Gabriel Wood
We have finally made it. We have reached the end of the year and the start of another journey, a start of new unkempt resolutions, the start of post Christmas diets and unsustainable training regimes. As we speak, offices, clubs, businesses, friends and families are all in season’s preparations. Whether its an intimate Christmas party or a celebration club night, everyone is gearing up for a happy ending to 2007.

Do not under any circumstance allow your dress code to be beaten this year by Ben Landish from the third floor. Chin up, stand out and be the life of the party with this intriguingly eye-catching outfit. I have decided to pinch elements of Mr. Claus’s season’s colour scheme, furthermore introducing a little flare and flamboyance to the equation.

Lets start with this luxurious Bengal Reverse shirt by Savile Row. This Black and white contrast shirt is amazing and intrinsic. The white collar speaks volumes of style with masculine detail and guess what, its crease resistant, so wear in or out as many times as your heart or event desires.

These perfectly tailored black trouser pants are unmatched in quality and sophistication. Versace has truly hit the nail on the head by combining the style of a tuxedo with the fit of a perfect pair of jeans.

Cashmere fibres are obtained from the cashmere goat, which resides in parts of Asia. This type of wool is considered luxurious mainly because of its softness and fibre dimensions. Not all garments claiming to be made of cashmere are 100% genuine, but Savile Row prides themselves on their unique Mongolian gauge cashmere used in this beautiful V-neck Berry jumper.

Since this is a festive season, I tried to shy away from the usual black dinner jacket, which for this look would not be dynamic enough. After a session of persistence, I managed to find a blazer that would compliment Versace’s tuxedo style pants. This iron grey Garvey blazer is what one would call a "symphony"; beautiful from start to finish. It is elegant and lined with purple satin with streaming tuxedo details. This blazer is worth its weight in gold and a must have even after the season ends.

Putting into consideration the amount of drunken dancing one will have to facilitate this holiday, I’ve opted for a super smart pair of suede loafers from Tod’s. Celebrities such as Jack Nicholson and the late Princess Diana have worn shoes from this Italian brand, thus making quality unmentionably elite.

Alas, we reach the final touch and my favourite accessory; the handkerchief. Since I have not included a tie, it is important to keep an equilibrium going. Just encase you happen to find yourself forgetting where your mouth is when gulping down that new-year eve champagne, I suggest the use of a darker toned handkerchief and in this case, silk burgundy.
