Istanbul Got Style

It's not the sartorialist (not everyone is pals with Carine et Al) but owing to my current obsession with everything to do with Turkey (the country, not the bird!) I stumbled upon this Istanbulli street style blogspotty-type blog thing. I've been curious as to what it's like there besides the pictures you always see of the huge, towering mosques and the bazaars and this site gives you a pretty good feel for the attitude and sass of its denizens. I've never been there (I have a list of magna cartan proportions to get through) but rest assured, It's definitely at the forefront of my mind. http://istanbulstreetstyle.blogspot.com/

Extravagance in the Middle East

When most people think of the biggest shopping, tourist-touted locales in the world, cities such as New York, Paris, and Milan are frequent choices. However, Dubai, a city of United Arab Emirates, is becoming one of the most fashion-savvy, couture conscious places in the world!

Dubai is the home to one of the world’s largest malls, the Mall of the Emirates that feature over 400 designer shops from Burberry to DKNY. However, what keeps Dubai one of the most popular destination stops for the style-savvy is the annual shopping festival! But this festival is no street fair though- it’s major! So major that over 3.3 million people visited during 2005’s festival (spending over one billion dollars combined!), and each year, the numbers only continue to rise. Not to mention that the event, which features giveaways like solid gold and Lexus cars, lasts for twenty-three days each year!

Elie Saab

Everyone always asks me who my favorite designer is, well here he is. Elie Saab stole my heart from the moment I set my eyes on his designs. He's not afraid to indulge on the decadent side and creates the most incredible couture. It is exotic glamour defined. In a world where everyone is literally identical Elie's designs take us back in time to a place where actual luxury existed. There really is no comparison and there is no other designer who can really take his place in my books. Like Jillian says about Middle Eastern designers like Elie and Zuhair, "This is fashion, this is what it's all about."

Cairo Eyes

I think the one thing that stands out for me when I think of Middle Eastern beauty are well defined, gorgeous eyes. Middle Eastern women have the most stunning eyes and their eyeliner is always perfect! This liner by Global Goddess is a must if you want to achieve tantalizing eyes at home. Cairo eyes liquid liner is a product I use everyday and I think I've finally perfected my technique. Remember practice makes perfect.

Elie Saab

Ok, So maybe Eli Saab is a far cry from being a beast. The little adorable Lebanese man is the mastermind behind some of the most fascinating gowns I've ever seen. The intricate detailing and precision is unbeatable. He outfits the upper-crust including Princesses and Queens. Well, his designs are fit for a Queen and then some. Here are some of his looks form his couture show.
