Stay Attractive in Autumn and Winter: Part III

Contributing Editor: Gabriel Wood
Public, underground transport is one of my major pathways to fashionable enlightenment, carefully scrutinizing each individual's apparel with meticulous detail. Minute after minute, I wait, as I'm transformed into a short haired damsel in distress, waiting for an outfit to save my day. After a hopelessly grueling forty minute journey, I finally get an "Edison light-bulb" of an idea.

Knitwear is a big "yes, yes" fashion statement in the UK this winter, not only because of its casual yet smart and gentlemanly appeal, but also because of the vital layer of protection it gives from that pesky arctic breeze. Brrrr.

Usually, fitted V-necks or cardigans are pretty much a safe option, but I have started to gain an interest in funnel neck jumpers. So, I kick start my suggestions with this overly cool jumper:

Stylishly detailed, Titanium funnel neck jumper with ribbed cuffs and hem.

A pair of jeans can either make or break your look. Be wise and opt for a pair of straight or slim fit jeans, with a low cut waist. This will give you a good foundation for your upper-half but also give your legs a firm and defined appearance. I had a pair of Guess jeans that i loved and wore for years, so its no wonder that I have added the brand to my list.

Nothing exudes confidence better than a good shirt and tie combination. Now, this is a Microsoft margin away from our seasons color scheme, but I couldn't resist adding a hint of purple to the mix.

The look of Sloth?
By guest contributor Gabriel Wood

A sloth moves so slowly that GREEN algae can grow undisturbed on its fur. Hmmm? Well, yes, I know its rather a trivial piece of information but I just like the colour green, and thought it would be cool to bring a little color to the season. I took an exploration around the west end of London searching for contingent trends. Fortuitously for me, some interesting window displays bestowed onto me some good ideas.

Stay Attractive in Autumn and Winter

Guest contributor: Gabriel Wood

Without a shadow of a doubt, sexy must return to males. When is the best time to make such a transaction? During the cold months, of course. Forget the harsh rays of the summer sun, where a t-shirt and the nearest available pair of Hawaiian print shorts dominate. Its Autumn, the heat may have subsided, the amazon woman may have gone back into hibernation, but nevertheless a hot look can be eminent enough to keep the plethora of females quean up.
Orchids are nature's best adaptors, able to change in shape and colour to fit their environment. Well men, we can also adopt these traits.

Hot colors for Autumn/Winters:

  • Reds

  • Burgundy

  • Oranges

  • Greens

  • Whites with Black or Brown soft furnishings

Originally created in 1917 to keep missile dropping cadet pilots warm from open top fighter planes. Here is a version of the popular bomber jacket, reincarnated into a sleek must have style.

A burgundy leather bomber, with fine stitching around the collar makes a non-fussy, sleek and smart choice.

Available from Topman: $249

I'm often ambiguously lost in an ocean of choice when it comes to T-shirts, but after painfully scrummaging through the latest styles, I found, literally, that the sky was the limit.

Keeping warm couldn't be easier. Stay comfortable, whilst still remaining as if you had no idea it was the temperature of Finland out, with this long sleeve funnel neck sweater.

This stunner features cable knit detail, man size horn buttons. With pockets at the waist, there's no need to stuff those paws in your jean pockets...that's a job for the Mrs.
Available from Ted Baker: $177

No man should be caught wearing boot-fit or flared jeans. Its a silent rule introduced by the inconspicuous return of the Mod.

Raw, dark indigo jeans in updated slimmer cuts, with contrasting white stitching will keep things fresh. Polish out the look with pointed oxfords.
Available from Topman: $73

Accessorize with simple flare. Protect yourself whilst maintaining style with a striped wool scarf from and vintage Wayfarer folding suicide shades.

Fall 2007 Hair Style Ideas

This fall Hair binding is haute especially with beautiful headbands, hair clips and pins, ribbons. Leather strips all around the hair to hold it together and bind it. If you're not into the whole braid scene how about a touch of Romanticism. It's a very imaginative approach to hair and almost fairy tale like. Futuristic and graphic styles are also in for FW07 think simple shapes with dramatic effects.
Why not try a mix of Masculine & Feminine: front part with long sultry waves in the back.

Elegant Shapes scream glam this fall: think sexy feminine curls, soft textures.

Natural Simplicity: hair done "down" for a change; fresh and healthy looking styles; understated naturally dried hair with minimal products in it.

Clean Lines: Modern slicked back hair that is all behind the head. Hair is completely off of the face.

Virgin hair is totally refreshing for fall : Long and thick hair that looks as if it has never been cut.

Classicism: Classic hats with low pony tail coming out of the back. The classic bob, with straight hair. (Mimi might do this for fall)
