HM Social Diary: B Never Too Busy Too Be Beautiful Launch Party- London

B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful is one of the leading make-up brands in the UK, with iconic branches all over it is a regular haunt for the london circuit. Famed for their fabulous glitter pots, and truly decadent packaging its a die-hard must for every make-up fanatic like myself!

To celebrate the launch of their new store on Oxford Street, London i joined the crowd to see what all the fuss was about. With make-up artists on hand to give mini touch-ups, brand new stock to browse over and cupcakes&champagne the night was more than a success.

Steal The Secrets of This Emmy Look by NARS

Want to steal America's Emmy look? I definitely did, hence I was so excited to get insider tips from NARS make-up artist, Vanessa Scali who created America's fabulous look. Read on and steal the tips for your next red carpet moment.

What was your inspiration for this look?

The look was inspired by the 50's: an Audrey Hepburn eye, a Vargas mouth and a sheer, radiant face made it modern and timeless.

How would you describe this look?
Simple, sophisticated and timeless!

Can you walk us through step-by-step how you created this look?

Foundation/Concealer: I like the skin to look flawless but real so I always use foundations and concealers sparingly. That said, I prefer spot coverage for foundation. On America, I used NARS Balanced Foundation in Fiji and Barcelona (I mixed two colors for the prefect match). I use a brush to apply it to the areas that need it and then I blend it in with my fingers. Using your fingers heats the product just a bit and leaves a seamless finish. Then I applied NARS concealer under the eyes where necessary.

Contouring: I used NARS Bronzing Powder in Casino to contour her cheekbones and accentuate her bone structure.

Cheeks: For extra staying power I used a combination of NARS cream and powder blush. This will make your blush last longer and require fewer touchups. First, I applied NARS Multiple Stick in Portofino to the apples of the cheeks. Cream formulas are my favorite. They are the easiest o blend and leave the most natural finish. Then after I used a touch of NARS translucent powder and then I applied NARS Blush Orgasm. The combination gave her face a touch of color and a subtle shimmer that left her looking radiant – not made up.

Eyes: The eye is sophisticated yet innocent. First I used the NARS Multiple Stick Copacabana all over the eye lid. Followed by the right hand color in the All About Eve duo palette. All over the eye and under the bottom lashes. This layering help gives staying power. Next, I lined inside the NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Iceberg (white) to make them look bigger and I lined her eyes (upper lid only) with the NARS Eyeliner Pencil in Moon Black. Because mascara and lashes were very important to define the eye, I curled them and gave them several coats of NARS mascara in Black Orchid.

Eyebrows: I used Nars Ipanema brow pencil to fill in as needed.

Lips: Lips are bold and semi-matte. I used NARS Semi-Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Empress. .

From wedges and high-waisted jeans, to opaque tights and fringed leather bags, many fashion designers are revisiting the stylishly yet folksy looks of the 1970’s. And the model’s makeup and hair is no different! The decade of hippies, disco, Annie Hall and rock and roll have been an inspiration of many. The makeup artist for Dsquared named Ali McGraw of the 70’s movie “Love Story” an inspiration, giving models red lips and a simple center part with long, flowing locks. This hairstyle was seen at numerous shows including Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Zac Posen and DKNY. The fresh-faced dewy look reflects the mood of the era. Models at both Stella McCartney and Diane von Furstenberg strutted down the runway with minimal face makeup. As for hair, braids fared well, too. Single sided, messy braids and fishtail braids were a popular style with Vera Wang’s lavender label, accompanied by a knitted cap for daytime looks, and on it’s own with evening dresses. But before you declare Marcia Brady (or Cindy if you’re keen on braids!) as your “new” style icon, beware! Spandex disco onesies, itchy synthetic fibers, and leisure suits are just a few things from the 1970’s that need not be revived. So if you’re wary, try to the trend with hair and makeup. It’s never been hotter to sport a 70’s inspired look! Groovy!
