What's Haute | Colored Contacts and Eyelash Extensions

I get bored with my look very easily, so I am always looking for new fun ways to switch it up. That's why I love colored contacts since it helps me dramatically change my appearance easily. Colored contacts have been the secret of Bollywood divas but lately they have become more and more popular in the states especially amongst the fashion crowd here in New York City. My favorite brand of contacts is Fresh Look Contact Lenses, they are by far the most comfortable and natural looking contacts on the market. My favorite shades are amethyst and sterling silver. Try them today and be even more glamourous than you already are.

Eyelash extensions are also another great way to enhance eyes for a dramatic effect. Most salons offer this service and can range from $20-$500+ depending on the quality of the service and the quality of the lashes used. They usually last for about two weeks and are waterproof. I personally only get them for special events but stick to strip lashes for everyday wear. I always keep a stash of Ardell eyelashes on my vanity. You can find them at any drug store or beauty supply store. Eyes are the window to the soul so make sure your eyes convey glamour and drama.

Beauty Buzz | Haute New Beauty Company Coastal Scents

Whether you're new to makeup or if you have every single MAC collection you will love the Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Eye-Shadow Palette. I've had my palette for about a month now and I love creating fun and trendy looks using the bright, bold and fresh colors. When I shop for makeup I usually stick to neutrals and "safe" colors like pink or blue from high-end brands so the 88 palette allows me to have an amazing collection of fun colors I normally wouldn't buy. This palette is great to have in your own makeup collection and makes a great gift for a beauty junkie as well. My favorite shades are the bright violets (as seen on models in Gucci's SS09 Ads). Did I mention this palette is priced at only $25.00 and did I mention the shadows are just as pigmented and milled at the same quality of high-end shadows? I have been raving about this product to all my gal pals and many of them have already ordered theirs, it's time to get your hands on your very own palette here.

J. Lynne Ultra Intensity Mineral Eyeliner

As much as I love my luxury cosmetics, I'm also on the look out for new indie brands to spice up my makeup routine. A new favorite is J.Lynne cosmetics. The brand promotes natural, cruelty free makeup. The eco-friendly line offers some amazing products at great prices. One of my favorites from J.Lynne are the Ultra Intensity Mineral Eyeliners. They come in a variety of colors but my favorites are Tigress (golden brown), Vamp (jet black) and Drama Queen (true purple). I blend a little of the powder with a drop of water and apply with an eyeliner brush. It's a great way to add a fun color to your eyes without looking over the top. Instead you'll look sophisticated yet ultra hip. View the entire collection here.

Her Eyes are Dramatic and Beautiful

One thing I love about Indian women is they way they apply makeup to their eyes. It always looks perfect, and adds that certain exotic touch. Try to stare at an Indian women straight in the eyes. I dare you.

That is what's great about being a woman. Women have aspects about themselves that they can exaggerate. Let's celebrate this to the fullest. Adorn and embellish yourself with luxury!

Interview with Danielle Vincent of Kimiko Beauty

Last week we gave you the inside scoop on the fantastic and brand new beauty line Kimiko (which by the way is available on Vivre now) and now we're giving you the inside scoop on the gorgeous Danielle Vincent, founder of Kimiko beauty. She's a beauty insider, makeup artist and a diva with impeccable taste. Here's what Danielle spilled to HM. (Steal her tips to stay stunning)
HM: Describe your style in one word.
DV: Easy.

HM: What is your best-kept beauty secret?
DV: Proper sleep – your skin and your eyes always look best and brightest after a good night’s rest.

HM: Where is your favorite place to shop for beauty products?
DV: I prefer boutique shops. I enjoy the thrill of discovering rarities; a beautiful one-of-a-kind makeup bag, or a unique perfume that I know isn’t widely available.

HM: Who is your style icon?
DV: Style is very personal, with inspiration drawn from so many different places and even specific moments. I do appreciate Grace Kelly’s timeless and easy elegance.

HM: What is the biggest mistake a woman can make when putting on make-up?
DV: Everyday makeup is meant to enhance, not create a made-up look, so the key is to blend well. Protect the skin with a broad spectrum SPF before beginning the makeup application. Focus on blending, so the result is enhancement rather than distraction.

HM: What is one lesson you are grateful for learning throughout your career in the beauty industry?
DV: Envision your goals and take smalls steps towards them every day. These small steps are what make big dreams a reality.

HM: What advice would you give to young beauty industry professionals trying to make their fame?
DV: Trust you instincts, be bold and do what you love.

HM: If you could give women a beauty tip to always look fabulous what would it be?
DV: Be comfortable in your own skin. Self-esteem shows a woman’s true beauty. (and when you’re running out that door to take on the world, a fabulous eye-opening mascara never hurt either!) http://www.kimikobeauty.com/

In Eyewear- Shades For The Fabulous

Contributed By Gabriel Wood
I am a proud proprietor of several pairs of sun shielding specs and pride myself on my taste for this great functional accessory. I admit to being a tad bit ostentatious at times, but why not? A good looking pair can elate and transform the most unnerving individual into one of smugness. However, shopping for trendy sun protecting shades can be quite an oblique experience to say the least. Firstly, you have the obstacle of finding a vendor, which fundamentally is not that difficult but once a few are found, finding one which will not either rape or murder you in price is a protruding factor. Secondly, and unfortunately, high street shops are not open at anti-social times, which for some modern shoppers boast as a key requirement. Online is great for value for money but can pose problems when purchasing. One obvious hurdle is the non-existent ability to "try before you buy," and another is the annoying five working day delivery periods that some sites suggest.

Can there be a saviour? Maybe so ...

A new website was brought to my attention by a fellow colleague claiming that it was among one of the most interesting sites visited. Admittedly, this sparked some cynicism as previous attempts to purchase eye wear left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

In Eyewear brings to view a revolutionary idealist view on shopping for both men and women. The site is fresh, informative, simplistic and easy to navigate. In Eyewear has a plethora of exiting and exclusive products from designers such as Belstaff, Oakley, Roberto Cavalli, Rayban and Fendi to name a few. It also caters for different consumer groups for example: CEBE snow goggles for the adventurer, Roberto Cavalli for the fashion buff and Rayban for the rocker. Now naturally, on the outset this site perceives to be no different from any other retail website, however, its key selling constituent is in it’s online try before buy feature.
Customers are able to upload their own portrait pictures and "try on" the desired product. I thought I would try it out for my self in the attempt find out whether this is just an ambitious gimmick, or a revolutionary entity. At first I was a little sceptical, but in no time. and after a simple navigation attempt, I was spending most of my leisure time entertaining myself with the facility.

Within plausible conditions, the site offers free next day delivery and an option to save your settings for later reference. Even better is the option to save your desired product and send it to a loved one as a notification of your desired wish list. Hmm...nifty.

Overall this is a great site with interesting features, quality products and perpendicular in accessibility. Be sure to make them (after us of course) your first point of contact when shopping around for luxurious eye wear, for yourself or for another. http://www.ineyewear.com/

Beauty Product Review of the Week: E.L.F. Cosmetics

We all get a little jolt of triumph when we score a bargain. Especially when that bargain will make you not only turn heads but break necks. My new favorite drugstore find is E.L.F. Cosmetics. E.L.F. (which stands for eyes-lips- face) offers an array of makeup that leave you looking gorgeous without breaking the bank. The color palettes are expertly chosen to compliment fashion trends. So this fall while you’re prancing around in that plum satin mini dress and gold cowboy boots, dust your lids with E.L.F.’s plum palette. With so many products to choose from and at insanely low prices why not go crazy and fill up your professional Sephora make-up trunk.
Editor’s Pick:

My favorite product from E.L.F. cosmetics that I stock up on is the Hypershine gloss. I go through one tube of lip gloss in one week. So this gloss is perfect, economy wise. The formula is long lasting and won’t leave your lips feeling sticky or gooey. I finished off a mini bottle of Pellegrino with gloss intact. Now that’s a feat. The applicator is genius. It dispenses just the right amount of gloss. Hypershine gloss comes in an array of colors that compliment all skin-tones. Get glossy ladies. http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ xx MIMI
