Flirty & Sassy Summer Dresses
I love dresses, especially fun flirty styles with a pop of color and intricate embellishments. This hot pink number by Tibi is perfect for lunch on a yatch. The orange dress with white beading is a steal at only thirty dollars from Forever 21 and will look stellar with chunky wooden heels, a perfect outfit for a steamy party in Goa.

What's Haute | Embellished Tunics and Sandals
The weather in New York is fabulous and it has me craving for even hotter days so that I can pull out my embellished caftans and heels. I love to pair flowy chiffon caftans with white straight legged jeans and fabulous jeweled sandals. They come together to create an aura of exotic glamour. Here are a few favorites from Vivre. Guest Blog | How To Dress For A Spring Cocktail Party By Stylist Catherine Horgan

In this guest blog, stylist and Haute Mimi contributing editor Catherine Horgan shares ideas on how to dress for a Spring cocktail party.
It's that time of year, when the weather begins to break and you're ready to whip out your spring dresses. There's something incredibly invigorating about moving your winter garments out of the way to make room for the light + airy! If you haven't partaken in closet purging yet, you should. Talk about spring cleaning for your closet!
When I work with clients, I put together a multitude of outfits worthy of many an occasion, including special events. That special event may be as simple as a spring cocktail party. Minis are everywhere this spring, and sequins continues to play a part in our wardrobes, so why not combine the two in a flirty little dress!
Go for fabulous shoes, like these grain-effect leather sandals from one of my favorite designers, Oscar de la Renta. Pick up the bold color from the shoes and mimic it in your clutch, like Alexander McQueen's Squeeze It leather clutch (available at the Outnet). As for jewelry, I love these simple nugaard long rolo and links earrings (from Piperlime), big bangle bracelets and this alluring gemstone and onyx ring. Chic, fun and fabulous!

HM Bridal Trends | Garden-Chic Wedding
Bridal trends for spring were not only seen on NY Bridal Fashion week, but draped over the RTW runway. I love the romantic combinations of muted and pale neutrals with light and airy fabrics. There are many themes for 2010 wedding styles and the major focus is on the obvious. For spring, floral and garden arrangements are key trends for bridal gowns and accessories. Light fabrics such as silk chiffon and organza are perfect for warm weather nuptials. Whatever the theme of your ceremony, nothing says romance like roses and floral appliqués. The detailing on wedding gowns consisted of gathered rosettes and silk coils to create a blooming affect. David’s Bridal incorporated flowers with feathers in bridal headpieces for a subtle, yet stylish touch to a more classic wedding dress. If you already have your dream wedding dress, but want to add pop of botanical flare, try going for a floral printed pair of wedding shoes that peep from underneath your gown, or printed sash. I love a pop of color in the traditional all-white gown, it's refreshing and unexpected.Copyright ©2009 Haute Mimi International LLC. All rights reserved.

TRENDS FOR 2010 & MORE
Every season, editors & buyers give us the lowdown of what we should be attempting to wear or at least aspire to. We decided to give you the trends which are both wearable and consistent, because unlike the Paris Hilton's of the world, we can't drop 20K every day in Balmain and thus repeitition is something of a norm to us.
BOLD PATTERNS:
This season Miucca Prada gave us sexy 80s acids in ballet cut dresses with long smouldering sleeves, for a lasting trend why not buy a knock-out number in a staple shape such as the pencil skirt, thus you can layer and play without being 'off' any time soon.
SHORT SHORTS:
Legs are never a bad thing, this season we want less as our shorts grow a few inches and hang above the knees. Choose a cream or a navy for classic looks and go for a sexy red if your daring.
NATURAL SHADES:
Cream, ivory, and vanilla. Sounds like your mother's wardrobe but alas we've decided to rock the boat and bring them out. Nude not so much, but we want lighter tones not so much grunge this season. Why not buy one or two pieces and mix and match with last seasons?
LEATHER:
Get rid of the Motley Crue picture in your mind, leather is sexy but classy this time round. We want cropped fitted leather pieces which sculpture around the body not wrap around it. Well cut pieces in soft leathers such as cropped jackets and tailor pants look good with anything, just be careful about going too light. White leather is never a good look.
LOW HEELS:
Anna wintour is not only powerful, but she also chose the low heel about a decade before anyone else. This season we've given in and we're choosing comfort over appearance. The 2inches are in!
CLOG:
You heard it here first. The word sums it up, we like our shoes CHUNKY!

Alexander McQueen Spring 2010
As always, Alexander McQueen never fails to disappoint with uber-chic collection for spring 2010 with lots of minis paired with towering heels. The 12 inch heels that only the most daring would venture into, were the highlight of the show along with hair and make-up right out of Star Wars. An extremely "out there" collection, McQueen's ensembles exude space-age fabulosity. The ultra-quirky outfits had irregular shapes and patterns which were twisted into magnificent, wearable couture creations that are surely going to be talked about for more than a few months.

Elie Saab RTW SS10
This season the star collections have been decided and that is that. Balmain, Christian Dior and Chanel are the highlights and if your a style.com fanatic like yours truly, you'll do nothing but nod your head and agree. However after going through every show this season, yes you read correct every show, I have decided that though Balmain is absolutely heaven for any Roitfeld wannabe, Christian Dior is bringing back sexy with lingerie and Chanel had a barn (o.m.g) maybe its all about Elie Saab.
Elie Saab's collection featured a mix of Balmain inspired bodycon dresses which see embellishment to a new high, Grecian slip-like dresses which grace the body in a feminine form as well as a array of wearable ready-to-wear pieces which could be a Kate Moss must-have anytime in the future. The power shoulders were more accessible with a more slimline cut and zips were back in with a vengeance, sexier and more tough-luxe combined with beautiful reds. My personal favourite? the Grecian embellished multicoloured bodycon thigh skimming number which was Lanvin meets Balmain. Viewthe entire collection here.

NYFW SS10 | J Mendel

J. Mendel revokes images of fabulous eveningwear and stunningly soft furs. This collection did not disappoint. It was all luxe fabrics, intricate detailing and gorgeous overlays. What was new? Plenty. Sculptural tulle was pretty big. The fabrics, you ask? Organza, chiffon, and huge cascading frills that would give any million dollar bride a complex. There was a lot of tweed in the pegged pants that gave a little more finesse to the collection.
The colors were on the paler, more demure side- peaches, creams, pale blues, jades, beiges, greys, pearly whites, pale browns and sumptuous yellows were all taken notice of and gawked at. The shoes were iridescent and classy.
The accessories were lust worthy but did not draw attention away from the clothes. Clearly, Mendel, the French coutourier extraordinaire has outdone himself yet again.Copyright ©2009 Haute Mimi International LLC. All rights reserved.

NY Fashion Week SS10 | PREEN
Having a look at the first major designer of the New York Shows the word is “muted”. Soft pale greys, white and black showing not a lot of colour around for the summer. Preen known for tight body con rock chic dresses, had beautifully tailored pants in silver and pale greys. Structured drainpipe cuts will look great on taller women.Saturday, September 12
