Naeem Khan FW10 Collection | Simply Amazing

Naeem Khan received a standing ovation for his FW10 collection, and there is no question why. Khan presented one of his strongest collections of all time, doing what he does best, interlacing Indian glamour with New York sophistication. I personally want to live in every piece from the collection. You can view the entire collection via New York Magazine, click here.

Boutique Review | Grand Opening Foravi On Madison, One of The Best Boutiques In New York City

Foravi is the new high-fashion boutique founded by socialite, Devora Avikzer Goltry, that is taking the retail industry by storm. The boutique offers a full range of highly edited ready to wear and accessories from some of the hottest designers like Vivienne Westwood and Anisa . I was blown away by the vintage Versace jewelry and wide selection of gorgeous cocktail dresses. Foravi is one boutique where glamour resides and resonates. Located on 80th and Madison, Foravi is the boutique of choice for upper-east side fashionista who craves sophistication with a splash of decadence.

DVF FW10 Fashion Show Review

There are some designers who remain eternal fashion figures. And the likes of Miuccia Prada and Diane Von Furstenberg, do no wrong. Ever. This FW2010 season, at New York Fashion Week, she did not disappoint.

Diane reiterated the fact that you really can be feminine and masculine fabulously at the same time, in the same outfit.
We also saw a lot of creams, blacks, metallic, especially golds, limes and jewel studding. We also saw a plethora of velvet, ruched silk, tweed, felt, organza, Georgette and chiffon. The colors popped beautifully, giving it a wearable allure while also being ridiculously chic and high end.

There were gorgeous metallic tweed jackets, Pucci-esque chiffon dresses like the one pictured above, and true to form, some unusual prints.

Accessories were minimal, keeping the focus on the clothes. Hair and make-up was relatively simple as well, as it is at most DVF shows. The coin embossed navy dress on Abbey Lee Kershaw was tres magnifique. All in all, a raging success. But what less would we expect from Diane?

NYFW SS10 | J Mendel

J. Mendel revokes images of fabulous eveningwear and stunningly soft furs. This collection did not disappoint. It was all luxe fabrics, intricate detailing and gorgeous overlays. What was new? Plenty. Sculptural tulle was pretty big. The fabrics, you ask? Organza, chiffon, and huge cascading frills that would give any million dollar bride a complex. There was a lot of tweed in the pegged pants that gave a little more finesse to the collection.

The colors were on the paler, more demure side- peaches, creams, pale blues, jades, beiges, greys, pearly whites, pale browns and sumptuous yellows were all taken notice of and gawked at. The shoes were iridescent and classy.

The accessories were lust worthy but did not draw attention away from the clothes. Clearly, Mendel, the French coutourier extraordinaire has outdone himself yet again.

Designer Style File: 3.1 Philip Lim

Philip Lim is without doubt one of my favorite designers. The designer, who's pieces are notoriously wearable, mixes young feminine vibes with luxe chic. He stands out with his well-cut, classically tailored, urban floral, floaty minidresses, coats and very intricately detailed pieces.
His Resort 2010 collection was all about pretty lace dresses, denim and lamés. All very summery and refreshing. There were trences, polka dots, sequins, linen and lots of other slices of heaven. Mr. Lim, all we can day is : "We can't wait till next season."

NICO KUBISCH WINS NEW YORK FASHION WEEK AWARD FOR BEST MENSWEAR

"For my Spring/ Summer 09 collection I was drawing inspiration from gentlemen's sports, particularly tennis in the 1920s and 30s, where sportswear was just a softerversion of formal menswear with it's tailored jackets and trousers.Transforming this concept into a more contemporary style I created the look of my Spring/Summer 09 collection."- Nico Kubisch
Nico graduated with an award winning collection. Further training at Alexander McQueen and with Savile Row tailor Grieves and Hawkes has further honed his sharp tailoring skills. Nico Kubisch launched his own line Nico Kubisch in Summer 2007. He was invited to show at New York Fashion week and succeeded in winning Best Editorial and Best Menswear for Spring/ Summer 09, cementing his position as one of Britain’s most coveted cutting edge designers. The palette ranges from white, ivory and grey with cobalt blue giving a quirky twist on classic mens styling. - Gabrielle Teare

Zac Posen FW08: Hit or Miss?

Fashion wunderkind Zac Posen is known for his dramatic presence on the runway. His fall 2008 collection has British and French influence. It's an extravagant mix between Moulin Rouge and Prince William's closet. The collection has an abundance of sheer fabrics, sequins, and ruffles with the occasional herringbone tweed sheath. Posen chose to overemphasize evening wear, which had taken away from his promising daytime silhouettes. Some argue that this collection is Posen's most focused show to date; however, it seems that the young designer is still struggling to find his voice in the world of fashion. You be the judge.
